About Zillertal Arena
The Zillertal arena is the largest ski resort in the Zillertal. The resort is located in the state of Salzburg and is spread over a few villages such as Zell am Ziller Königsleiten and Gerlos. The highest villages are Gerlos and konigsleiten. The ski lift from Gerlos takes you directly to the plateau where you can find nice and easy slopes for beginners and intermediate skiers. The more challenging slopes can be found above the village of Königsleiten. Here you can find some black runs and loads of red runs. In this part of the Zillertal arena you can also find the best off-piste possibilities.
Whoever loves Dutch après-ski is in the right place in the Zillertal arena, every year 1000s of Dutch people come to this ski resort for their vacation, and you know what they say Dutch people know how to party. For those who want some more relaxation the best village to be is Hochkrimml.
Strengths and weak points
Strengths:
Perfect for advanced skiers: especially above Zell am ziller and Königsleiten you can find some beautiful slopes.
Almost no flats : only flat you will encounter is a slope between Zell am Ziller and Gerlos.
Amazing food on the slopes: you have a large group of restaurants and huts to choose from while looking for something to eat.
Après-ski: you will find some great bars and clubs most notably in Gerlos
Weak points:
The Zillertal arena is a very popular ski resort and during the European vacation weeks it can be really busy here.
