About Lake Tappenkarsee

Lake Tappenkarsee is located in the state of Salzburg and is a mountain lake in the Hohe Tauern mountains at an elevation of about 1760 meters above sea level.

Lake Tappenkarsee is a popular hiking destination during the spring and summer months. A 3 and a half hour hike takes visitors up 700 meters to the lake where 2 mountain huts provide some needed rest and food or if needed a overnight stay.  Once hikers arrive at the  lake a beautiful mountain panorama view opens up for everybody to enjoy.

A popular hiking trail is the two lake hike that takes hikers form lake Jägersee lake to the lake Tappenkarsee.
