About Lake Ossiachersee

Lake Ossiachersee  is located in Carinthia and is the 3th largest lake in the state. The deepest point of the lake is 52m and the surface area of the lake is about 10.5km2 the lake borders the city Villach, the town Ossiach and the ski resort Gerlitzen with some smaller villages along the banks of the lake.

Lake Ossiachersee is an important tourist spot with around 2 million overnight stays annually. Most people stay at one of the villages at the banks of the lake, Annenheim, Sattendorf,Steindorf,Bodensdorf and Ossiach.

The area around the lake offers a 25km cycling route around the lake and offers perfect watersports activities. Such as boating, kayaking, swimming ( the lake can reach up to 28 degrees Celsius during the summer) and scuba diving.
