About Lake Mondsee

Lake Mondsee is located in the upper Austrian part of the Salzkammergut region and is located south west of the Attersee. The south bank of lake Mondsee forms the border between upper Austria and the state of Salzburg. As well as between the limestone and sandstone zone. Also striking is the dragon wall, which rises on the southwestern shore. The lake has a length of 11km and a maximum width of 1.5km the surface area of the lake is 14km2.

Lake Mondsee has been privately owned since the 18th  century.
