About Lake Attersee
Lake Attersee is located in upper Austria in the Salzkammergut region. Lake Attersee has a max depth of 169meters and has a high water volume of 4 billion cubic meters. Lake attersee forms the final link in a chain of lakes, which begins in the southwest with the Fuschlsee and in the northwest with the Irrsee. The water from both lakes flows into the Mondsee and from there over the 4 kilometer long seeache in the southwest into the Attersee.
Things to do and see on and around Lake Attersee
-Boat sports:
sailing and motorboat sports are very common, during the summer months however the use of combustion engines is prohibited on the lake.
-Scuba diving:
Due to the extremely good visibility of up to 25 meters ( in the autumn ) the lake is a popular diving location. Particularly on the south side of the lake.
Cycling: once a year a car free cycle adventure day is held, during which a 48km long route around the lake is closed off to traffic.
-Swimming:
During the summer season lake Attersee offers amazing opportunities to cooldown in the Austrian summer.
