About Kaprun

The Kaprun ski resort is located in the state of Salzburg and if one offers one of Austria’s most famous glaciers.

The ski resort is split in to 2 parts the Maiskogel and the glacier.

The snow security of the Kaprun glacier makes it one of the most visited resorts of Austria skiing and boarding is possible until late in the spring.  And if you are looking for a day or 2 of another ski resort you will find a connecting ski bus to the nearby resort of Zell am see.

The Maiskogel:

The Maiskogel is the closest to the village Kaprun and is perfect for the beginning skiers where you will enjoy the easy slopes.

The Kitzsteinhorn:

The Kitzsteinhorn is the place to be in case of green slopes in other ski resorts here you will almost always have great snow quality. The resort reaches a maximum height of 3029 meters.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths:

No flats: perfect for snowboarders on the Kitzsteinhorn, the ski resort has almost no flats and the slopes fit together perfectly.

Summer ski: you can ski almost the entire year on the Kitzsteinhorn resort, if you ever are in this region of Austria during the spring or early summer you will enjoy an amazing experience.

Weak points:

Busy: especially if snow conditions are less then desirable this ski resort can get really busy with longer waiting times.
