Werfenweng ski resort is located in the state of Salzburg. location wise the Werfenweng resort is one of the best in this part of Austria with an airport only 30 minutes away.

Werfenweng is a beautiful authentic Austrian village which offer everything you need when you are there, the village and the surrounding nature is pure and less affected by mass tourism as some other ski villages in Austria. in Werfenweng you can enjoy  your peace and quiet walking around the village and the beautiful forests covered in snow. By purchasing a special pass you will be able to enjoy facilities and activities for free during your stay. This includes ice skating, cross-country skiing, horse sleigh rides and taxi service. All of this and you can step in the gondola taking you to the heart of the resort from the village itself.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths:

Location, the Werfenweng resort and village offer a beautiful location in the Salzburger Alpen. With the new gondola you are directly connected to the ski resort from the village.

Low price level, Werfenweng offers perfect accommodations are low prices compared to other Austrian ski resorts.

Easily accessible, only a 30 minute drive from the airport.

Atmospheric, being in the village and surrounding nature of Werfenweng you will get to experience what real winter is without the mass tourism of large resorts.

Weak points:

Après-ski, if you are looking forward to a party week where you can party all night every night this is definitely not the ski resort where you need to be, take a look at Ischgl, ski Arlberg or Saalbach if that is what you are looking for.

Touring, if you want to make large skiing tours Werfenweng is not the ski resort for you.

Snow security, with all slopes being located under 2000 meters above sea level the snow quality on the slopes can get less then optimal once the warm sun comes through.
