About Erzberg

The Erzberg mountain is located in Styria in the eisenerz alps, here iron ore mining has been taking place since the 11 century. The Erzberg mine is the largest iron ore mine in central Europe and the largest siderite deposit in the world. Approximately 12 million tons of rock are mined and processed into 3 million tons of fine ore annually, experts estimate that the ore reserves will last for forty years.
