About The Green Lake

The green lake is located in Styria. The lake fills with the onset of snowmelt of the surrounding mountains. The water therefore is a cold 5-6 Celsius even in summer. Depending on the season the deepest point is 10 meters, in the autumn it almost completely dries up. Trails trees and benches are subdued under water each year for a few months. It used to be a popular scuba diving destination but in recent years this has become illegal for the protection of the water quality.
