About Nassfeld

The ski resort of Nassfeld offers over 100 km  of slopes and is located in the south of Carinthia. Offers well-groomed slopes and modern ski lifts. Located between 1300 and 2000 meters high the slopes are almost always in an excellent condition even if there is not enough natural snow the ski resort uses 100s of snow cannons to make sure your skiing holiday is perfect.

A notable run is the carnia-run here you can go for 7km nonstop and is an ideal run to ski at the end of your day. In Tröplach you can find some nice après-ski  bars and from here you can return by gondola to the heart of the ski resort.

Of course the ski resort of Nassfeld does not only offer 110km of nice slopes it also offers a snow park that is adapted for the requirements of the snowboarder and the border cross. There is also a large ice skating lake where you also can enjoy a nice round of ice golf. In the villages in the Nassfeld valley you can find indoor activities such as bowling swimming and other après-ski activities.

Strengths and weaknesses of Nassfeld

The strengths:

-Good food: besides the good slopes Nassfeld offers a large amount of mountain huts where you can find amazing food to enjoy while you are taking a break from the skiing.

-Child friendly, Nassfeld offers 2 nice child countries or kinderland in German. This is perfect for the little ones to learn skiing at a save place where they even have their own slopes.

-Good variation in slopes, you can find nice runs where you can ski in between the trees and you can find runs that are above the tree line and offer spectacular views.

-Snow security, Nassfeld is located in the south of the alps and depressions in the Mediterranean sea create huge quantities of snow in the ski resort.

-Even though Nassfeld is increasingly Populaire the prizes are still relatively low

Weak points:

-The resort of Nassfeld is not the best accessible ski resort of the Austrian alps so make sure you take out a extra few hours.

-For snowboarders some bad news. There are some flat areas where you will have to either walk or use a skier as tow lift.
